?What if we could sort the psychopaths beforehand

“Mouse” is a Korean mystery suspense series of 16 episodes based on a real story. It discusses a very important issue: if it is possible to scan a psychopath in the mother's womb using fetal genetic testing? And if the child in the womb is a psychopath, will it be wise to have that child or not? This would reduce the number of murders that happen.

"Psychopathic Gene": Psychopaths have the same brain as ordinary human beings, but without a mirror neuron. Lack of feelings such as pity, love, regret and sadness. They don’t feel their own pain and the pain of other people.

The series revolves around the idea of examining the fetus if it carries the psychopathic gene to get rid of the fetus. In this story, Two women undergo this examination and are shocked by the fact that the result is positive, but despite that they decide not to get rid of them. In addition to the fact that one of them is the wife of a mentally ill serial killer. After years, one of the children grows up to become a policeman and the other a surgeon. The story starts to see the two children who carry the psychopathic gene and how they deal with this gene through the years.

I recommend it to everyone who likes suspense, as it is a very exciting and breathtaking series that makes you doubt yourself and try to understand what is going on. I watched it twice in a row, and every time I watch it, I discover new details that I did not notice before. This is what amazes me about the show. It shows us the psychopathic side of the person who carries this gene and how he thinks in a way that doesn’t come to anyone's mind. Each episode ends with a cliffhanger and makes you want to watch more, and an ending that satisfies all parties. I like that it's inspired by a real story and highlights important issues.

  1. Korean TV series are all the rage these days. Did it start with Squid Game (which, by the way, I haven't seen)?
